'Escape' jewellery design

ESCAPE
A collection of jewellery designs inspired by the linear structures of the Tay Rail bridge. The project was created for my DJCAD jewellery and metal design degree show, 2019. It combines my feeling of being stuck in a cage when traveling by train, caused by my anxiety, with the beauty I see within engineering.

The project focused on large scale jewellery, all created digitally using illustrator to create a collection of laser cut jewellery pieces using steel, beech wood and perspex.
I created shapes that resemble elements of the bridge and conveyed the idea of movement. I used spearmint green in my work to tie in closely with the colour of the bridge.
I used colours that relate to the chosen materials to indicate to myself and others what material each section would have been made from.
Some of these designs were made into jewellery pieces and all of these digital designs and more were put together into an ipad slide show as part of the degree show. The dimensions of each image is 210mm x 297mm (A4).
